FIRST robotics is where a bunch of students get together and work together to build robots for a competition. There are different levels of FIRST, like FLL, FTC, and FRC. At each level teams will design and create a robot that corresponds with a certain type of game along with working with gracious professionalism. Gracious professionalism is where teams help one another and everyone cheers positively. Every team competes like crazy, but everyone treats one another with respect. There are not tough talk or sticky-sweet talk either during the competition. There are also no put downs. Teams get together to compete positively and to have fun. During the competition there are a number of awards that different teams can earn in all sort of different categories. This program also allows students to work with engineering and science. FIRST teams also use imagination when coming up with robot designs, and is a great way to make new friends with other teams.
